Last May Beatriz Azevedo played at the Dunya Festival’s 30th anniversary, one of Europe’s most important festivals.
She traveled from Brazil to Holland with her band formed by Bocato, Henrique Alves, Lucas Vargas, Pedro Ito and producer Flavio de Abreu. The trip was funded by Brazil’s Ministry of Culture.
Beatriz’s concert at the Dunya Festival had a few Dutch special guests such as flutist Remko de Landemeter, percussionist Jonas Linnemann and Brazilian musicians living in Holland Julio Pimentel and Tolomin. The concert was a great success and thrilled the European audience, thousands of people enjoying Brazilian music in a festival that attracted more than 200 thousand to a park in Rotterdam.
Before her major concert at the Dunya Festival, Beatriz Azevedo presented her music at the beautiful WMDC in Rotterdam. The European audience had the opportunity to get to know Beatriz’s new songs as a premiere. On stage, great Brazilian musicians: Bocato (trombone), Henrique Alves (bass), Lucas Vargas (accordion and piano), Pedro Ito (drums and percussion) alongside very special guests: Gabriela Hagen, Jonas Linnemann, Julinho Pimentel, Remko de Landmeter and Tolomin.

The CD will include new compositions and many partners/guests will be present, such as Bocato, Cristovão Bastos and Vinicius Cantuária.
After her concerts during the European summer, Beatriz went back to France to participate in a project about Anthropophagic Art. The project took place at Galerie de Nesle, within the quartier des arts, near the Pont Neuf in Paris. The event was promoted by the painters Gilles d’Staal and Jaime Zapata (Corpos Pintados).

After the German season in the program ´Culture Cup`, the band continued on to France. In Paris, Beatriz Azevedo presented 3 concerts upon the L`Entrepot stage and at the ´Le Divan Du Monde`. Promoted by Soline Garry & Metisse Music, Beatriz Azevedo’s concerts were sold out in every session, even during the intense Paris summer, a time when the city is usually less crowded...
